Student Ministry

Second Baptist Student Ministry exist to help students and their families to become empowered by God’s Spirit to encounter him in worship, effectively share the gospel of Jesus Christ, equip believers, and to engage in servant hearted ministry. We do that through corporate worship experiences, bible study, community groups and service opportunities. Our student ministry is active in reaching to all students and families of different races and backgrounds.

Sunday Morning Sunday School

Our students meet on Sunday mornings in our youth building for a time of in-depth Bible study. This group meets at 9:15 AM in our youth building. Classes are divided between gender and grades

Community Groups

Second Baptist Church is committed to living life within the realm of a community of believers. Community Groups are designed to help create meaningful relationships among the students as well with a godly influence from one of our volunteer leaders. If you are interested in becoming a part of a community group you can email Ross at ross@mysecondbaptist.org.

Overflow

Overflow is our corporate worship service on Wednesday nights. The idea of “Overflow” is that our worship to God is a direct overflow of the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives. Students arrive early, some after school, to play video games, hang out, and sometimes even study and do homework. A typical Overflow will include games, worship, teaching, small groups, and snacks. Everyone is welcome.

Trips

Second Baptist Student Ministry is frequently involved in some kind of spiritual experience to get the students out of their comfort zone. In the spring, our students attend “One Weekend”, an area-wide Discipleship Now weekend where they are challenged by speakers and worship with over 200 students. Later In the Spring there is a Spring Break Missions Trip, where our students will be engaging in servant hearted ministry and evangelism. In the summer, our students are challenged to serve through XFUGE, a missions camp experience. Students will work in a wide-range of ministries from working on houses, visiting the elderly, and reaching local children. In the fall, our students attend Fall Retreat. This is a time for them to get away and get in a position to really listen to God. They will be challenged during our worship experiences and enjoy the time out in the wild.
